Gansler Releases “Carjacked,” Announces Six Figure Broadcast Ad Buy

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Former Attorney General Doug Gansler and former Hyattsville Mayor Candace Hollingsworth, who are running for governor and lieutenant governor of Maryland, today released the campaign’s first television ad: “Carjacked”.

The campaign, which last night reported more than a million in cash-on-hand, is backing “Carjacked” with a six-figure ad buy on broadcast, cable and digital platforms.

The ad can be viewed HERE. A transcription is below:

Gansler: Picture this:  You’re stopped at a red light. A carjacker runs up and yells—

Carjacker: Get out!

Gansler: I’m Doug Gansler, running for Governor. As former Attorney General, I have the experience and plan to tackle crime now:

  • Hire one thousand new officers, trained in violence de-escalation
  • Install 10,000 new lights
  • And get guns off the streets

A balanced approach to safety and justice.

I’m Doug Gansler

Hollingsworth: I’m Candace Hollingsworth. Every Marylander…

Gansler: Deserves to be safe.
